Aaron Rodgers lists his New Jersey home for $15 million

Aaron Rodgers is done with New Jersey. The former New York Jets quarterback has listed his Cedar Grove house, sitting close enough to smell the Montclair line, for $15 million, about three years after he paid $9.5 million for it.

INSIDE THE $15 MILLION CEDAR GROVE LISTING

The house sits at 349 Crestmont Road, on 2.4 acres near Mills Reserve Park, atop First Watchung Mountain. It has eight bedrooms and 9.5 bathrooms across roughly 10,000 square feet. The glass and metal exterior was built for one thing: unobstructed views of the Manhattan skyline. The listing calls it “an extraordinary contemporary estate on the Cedar Grove/Montclair border.” Rodgers bought it new construction in 2023, right after signing with the Jets.

While that location made for an easy Sunday drive to MetLife Stadium, Rodgers rarely got the chance to make it. He tore his Achilles four snaps into his first game with the Jets that same year and missed the rest of the season. Most of his recovery happened back in Malibu, not in the new house he had just bought. Two seasons with the Jets came and went, and locals who kept an eye out rarely spotted him around town. The house, by most accounts, sat mostly empty.

Now he is heading to Pittsburgh for what he has told ESPN will be his last season in the league, and the Cedar Grove house isn’t the only property he’s letting go of.

PART OF A BIGGER REAL ESTATE PURGE

Rodgers has also put his Malibu property on the market for $39.5 million and listed a Wisconsin house outside Green Bay, in Hobart, for $3.74 million. He bought that one for $1.74 million in 2015. Three states, three listings, all within the same stretch of months.

Back on the Cedar Grove side, the math is the most interesting part. Sell the Cedar Grove house at asking price and Rodgers walks away with a $5.5 million gain, close to 58 percent, in under three years. That is a return most Montclair-area sellers would take without blinking, especially with the local market running as hot as it has this year.

Anyone curious what is actually driving prices that high along that line can find the fuller picture in our recent look at whether Montclair is in a housing bubble.
