America’s best restaurants according to AI — one is really surprising

In the world of exceptional dining, the United States showcases a diverse array of culinary gems stretching from one coast to another. All of the restaurants have a wallet-busting price point …. except for one. 

These are America’s top 10 best restaurants according to AI. Most are celebrated names that have dedicated themselves to the art of fine dining, garnering multiple Michelin stars. But there’s a surprise contender (according to artificial intelligence, anyway) for the best that America’s dining landscape has to offer.

Eleven Madison Park, New York City, New York

Eleven Madison Park in New York underwent an extensive rennovation a few years back, and is now known for its innovative tasting menus, which are entirely plant-based. A meal here, whether it’s a tasting at the bar or a 10-course meal, can range from $195 to $365 per person. It’s earned three Michelin stars for its exceptional  dining experience, thanks to its attention to detail, creativity, and commitment to sustainability.

The French Laundry, Yountville, California

This luxurious Napa Valley restaurant offers classic French cuisine, with signature dishes like “Oysters and Pearls,” a dish of oysters, pearl tapioca, and caviar. There are also  seafood and meat options, and exquisite desserts such as “Gougere,” a comté and truffle fondue. Expect to pay minimum around $390 per person, excluding wine and supplements. This iconic restaurant, led by Chef Thomas Keller, boasts three Michelin stars and is celebrated for impeccable service and a farm-to-table philosophy.

Le Bernardin, New York City, New York

Le Bernard has received more James Beard awards than any other restaurant in Manhattan. The restaurant specializes in seafood with standout dishes like Scallop Caviar and Black Bass. A prix-fixe tasting menu starts at around $175 per person.And don’t even think of bringing the whole family — children under 10 aren’t permitted.  With three Michelin stars, Le Bernardin is acclaimed for its unparalleled seafood preparations and Chef Eric Ripert’s culinary mastery.

Per Se, New York City, New York

Per Se offers a daily changing tasting menu where not a single ingredient is ever repeated throughout the courses. Per Se’s luxurious dining room overlooks New York’s Columbus Circle and Central Park, and is Chef Thomas Keller’s second three Michelin star restaurant after the beloved French Laundry mentioned before.

Alinea, Chicago, Illinois

Alinea offers a constantly evolving tasting menu with avant-garde dishes like edible balloons, savory black truffle explosions, and intricate desserts. The tasting menu starts at approximately $315 per person. Alinea is renowned for its groundbreaking culinary techniques, artistic presentation, and innovative flavor combinations, earning it the James Beard award for outstanding restaurant, as well as the coveted  three Michelin stars.

Momofuku Ko, New York City, New York

Momofuku Ko is a two-Michelin star restaurant that offers a unique culinary experience. The tasting menu consists of approximately 10 courses featuring dishes like seasonal seafood, inventive small plates, and playful dessert creations. A meal here costs approximately $280 per person. There’s also a bar with more affordable small plates should you not want to partake in the full 3-hour dining experience.

Canlis, Seattle, Washington

Canlis has been open 70 years, and offers a Pacific Northwest-inspired menu with dishes like sablefish, halibut and exquisite seasonal desserts. The prix-fixe menu starts at $175 per person, excluding wine pairings. With one Michelin star, Canlis is celebrated for its stunning views of Lake Union from its mid-century modern home location, which was the winner of the 2019 James Beard Design Icon Award.

Joël Robuchon, Las Vegas, Nevada

Located within the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, Joël Robuchon offers a tasting menu featuring exquisite French dishes like truffle-infused mashed potatoes, caviar, and a selection of gourmet cheeses. A meal here starts at approximately $250 to per person, excluding wine pairings. With three Michelin stars, Joël Robuchon is renowned for its opulent dining experience and Chef Joël Robuchon’s culinary artistry.

Vespertine, Los Angeles, California

Vespertine offers a dining experience unlike any other. Their tasting menu is a journey through avant-garde cuisine, featuring edible sculptures, creative plant-based courses, and unconventional flavor combinations. What also sets Vespertine apart is its innovative futuristic architecture. Vespertine has received two Michelin stars, and is currently only open for private events.
