Laura Harrier is making big moves — personally and professionally.
The American actor/model, who first caught our eye with her portrayal of Destiny Evans in the short-lived reboot of the fan-favorite soap opera “One Life to Live,” is becoming a regular presence on big and small screens.
After playing Peter Parker’s love interest, Liz Allan, in “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” Laura stepped out of the Marvel Universe to appear alongside Michael B. Jordan in HBO’s adaptation of Ray Bradbury’s acclaimed novel, “Fahrenheit 451.” Even though Harrier was cast as the main character’s wife, she was ultimately cut from the film — but didn’t let that hold her back.
Soon after, she landed the role of a lifetime in Spike Lee’s award-winning “BlacKkKlansman,” co-starring as a civil rights activist opposite John David Washington, Adam Driver, and Topher Grace. The movie went on to win the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for six Academy Awards (including the coveted Best Picture award).
Her TV role choices were equally inspired, as Laura Harrier appeared in Ryan Murphy’s lauded miniseries, “Hollywood,” and portrayed Mike Tyson’s ex-wife, Robin Givens, on the Hulu Original series “Mike.” Next she is in a remake of “White Men Can’t Jump.”
But Laura has been keeping busy off-screen as well. In September, Harrier announced her engagement to boyfriend Sam Jarou after a low-key proposal in Paris.
And while we don’t know where the happy couple will be settling down, we know that Harrier’s lovely current abode won’t serve as their love nest.
The “Spider-Man” actor recently listed her Los Angeles home — a historic 1920s Spanish-style home in the Whitley Heights Historic District — for sale.

Living on The Hill
To call its area “desirable” is an understatement. Hollywood’s first and foremost National Historic District, The Hill (as residents call it) has been home to some of the biggest stars. Charlie Chaplin once lived here, as did Bette Davis, Boris Karloff, Gloria Swanson, and William Faulkner — just a few of the Whitley Heights Historic District’s most famous residents.
Her home, much like all the historic homes that line this gem of a neighborhood, bears the signature of architect Arthur Barnes.

A Mediterranean feel
As the story goes, developer H.J Whitley set out to re-create a Mediterranean hillside village here right after World War I, so he shipped Barnes off to Europe to travel around the Mediterranean and study its architecture and landscaping before returning to California and designing most of the neighborhood that we see today.
And while Laura Harrier’s house still retains the Spanish influences Barnes incorporated back in 1922, the home underwent a thoughtful restoration that anchored it firmly in modern times.

In 2021, the Spanish-style home was restored beautifully by Mark Haddawy, co-founder of the retailer Resurrection Vintage and known restorer of architecturally significant homes. Haddawy’s most notable project to date is his impeccable restoration of the 1956-built Harpel House, designed by famed architect John Lautner (who also designed the Sheats-Goldstein Residence, the Elrod House, Silvertop, Chemosphere, and Bob Hope’s house in Palm Springs, among others).
The result is a welcoming home with modern-day features that retains Old Hollywood charm.

Remodeled kitchen
With a total 3,233 square feet of living space, Laura Harrier’s home has four bedrooms and three baths, a tastefully remodeled kitchen, and large south-facing windows with Hollywood views.

Original characteristics
Original characteristics can be seen throughout, with custom built-ins, wrought iron railings, and a Batchelder tile fireplace.
The lower level features its own access from the outdoors, and can easily be reconfigured as a home office, studio, or even as a guest suite.

Charming outdoors
The home’s charm is enhanced by the outdoor area. “Step outside to enjoy the romance of the ultra private and lush gardens that make this property feel like your own private Chateau Marmont, with multiple entertaining areas and a built-in gas fire pit,” the listing reads.
The beautiful historic home is listed for $3,349,000 with Daria Greenbaum of Compass. But given its location, quality, and timeless style, we don’t expect it to spend too much time on the market.
