States where it takes the longest to sell your home

In this post-pandemic housing market, spotting a “for sale” sign in someone’s yard is like seeing the last place you saw your car keys. They were just there — and now they’re gone. It seems we’re in a constant state of real estate deja vu. Still, while it feels like houses are flying off the market as fast as they enter it, there are some states where selling takes a bit longer.

Real estate company PortlandRealEstate.com analyzed Zillow data to determine which states see houses on the market for the longest average amount of time and Mediafeed looked at figures from Rocket Homes to include median listing prices in each of those states.

Here are the 10 states where it is taking the longest for homeowners to sell their homes.
